DEPALLETIZING SYSTEMS
Efficient depalletizing at lower operating costs
Depalletizing solutions can be utilized to improve the efficiency of, for example, the incoming materials process or the picking and repacking operations in intralogistics.
In the case of pallets containing standard-size boxes, robotic depalletizing can be carried out one pallet layer at a time. The pallet layer is placed on the depalletizing or picking table, and the packages can then be transferred to a transport conveyor one line at a time, or a different robot can pick them for repackaging.
In logistics applications in particular, the robot can also be used for depalletizing mixed pallets containing different sizes of packaging (usually cardboard boxes). One box is picked from the pallet at a time, and the depalletizing robot is controlled by a 3D machine vision application which identifies the packaging on the pallet. The boxes to be depalletized can be identified by means of, for example, measuring and/or weighing the boxes or reading the product code from the label on the box. The boxes may be sent for further processing as such by using a transport conveyor, or they may be placed in a storage case.
Orfer has also implemented numerous applications for return materials in which the stacks of different kinds of pooling boxes or trays are depalletized and fed into production either in stacks or individually.
