Orfer Oy has joined the Food 2.0 growth ecosystem led by Valio and Business Finland. The project aims to create a Finnish food system where growth, profitability, and added value are built on sustainable production.

Food 2.0 is an extensive research, development, and innovation project aiming to significantly increase food exports. The project’s key themes include technology transformation, circular economy, and resource efficiency. Orfer brings critical expertise to the ecosystem, supporting these goals with concrete automation solutions and with comprehensive lifecycle services.

"We want to help accelerate the green transition of the Finnish food industry in close cooperation with other pioneers in the ecosystem. Orfer’s automation systems help our clients save on packaging materials, reduce waste, and minimize the transportation of empty space in logistics. Through our comprehensive lifecycle services, we ensure the performance of these automation systems throughout their entire lifecycle," says Jussi Muikku, CEO of Orfer.

The collaboration seeks solutions to the profitability challenges of the food supply chain while reducing environmental impacts.

"We bring Finland’s leading expertise in secondary packaging and palletizing automation to the ecosystem for the benefit of its members. With this expertise, we can work together to directly impact the cost-efficiency of domestic food production and communicate the benefits of automation to other members," Muikku concludes.
