From Purchasing to Logistics

Pirita Levasmaa joined Orfer in the spring of 2022. As Orfer has grown, so has Pirita taken new steps in her career. Her recent appointment from a purchasing role to Logistics Manager has opened a new chapter for her within the same company. The appointment is a continuation of a journey driven by both a desire to grow and a desire to have an impact on her own work. Pirita brings solid hands-on experience in purchasing as well as a degree in International Business (BBA), both of which support her current role.

"I have already received positive feedback in my new role, which has given me greater confidence in what I do. The start in the new role has been really enjoyable, and a special thank-you goes to our wonderful four-person team," Pirita shares about her early impressions.


In her current position as Logistics Manager, Pirita is responsible for three key areas: people management, leading the logistics team, and overseeing transportation management and needs assessment. In a nutshell, Pirita's team ensures that the right goods arrive at the right place at the right time.


Looking Ahead

Pirita's current role also includes occupational safety. She is part of Orfer's occupational safety group, which brings a new perspective to everyday work.


Pirita outlines the goals of her new role: "I want to develop Orfer's logistics so that more efficient processes make everyone's work smoother. I'm looking forward to working together with the occupational safety team to further develop employee wellbeing and workplace safety."
